The Effect of Nanocrystalline Diamond Layers on the Tribological Properties of an Implant Co-Cr-Mo AlloyPoland Bialystok Technical University, 15-351, Bialystok Wiejska, 45c, Poland, dahlke{at}cksr.ac.bialystok.pl The paper presents research results of the effect of nanocrystalline diamond layers on tribological properties of an implant Co-Cr-Mo alloy. The sintered alloy of the Vitalium type was researched. The diamond coating was obtained by the Radio Frequency Plasma Chemical Vapor Deposition method. Tribological tests were performed with a simulator of hip joint. Introduced data confirm beneficial influence of diamond coatings on decrease of movement resistance and wear of materials.
